Whetstone Remembers 2017.
Remembrance Sunday 12th November 2017
Remembrance Sunday dawned cold but with lovely winter sunshine. A parade took place through the village lead by the Whetstone Church Lad and Girls Brigade. The music was fantastic as was the incredible turnout of many of the villages groups including the Scouting family, Blaby and Whetstone Youth Club and representatives from the Parish and District Council. A short service was held at the War Memorial before all those wishing to lay a wreath to remember fallen colleagues were placed by the Parish and District Council and the various groups and organisations within the village.
The turnout was amazing the best I’ve ever seen. Well done Whetstone a true village community event.
